Greenhill Welcomes Polly Holyoke
The Cultural Arts Committee is proud to welcome Polly Holyoke to campus on April 20 and 21, 2015. The author of the popular The Neptune Project, her second book, The Neptune Challenge, is coming out in May 2015.
Polly will be visiting with grades 3 through 6 on April 20 as part of Greenhill’s Earth Day celebration. As a member of Authors for Earth Day, Polly has pledged a portion of her honorarium to an environmental charity selected by Greenhill students. In honor of Polly’s commitment to water environmentalism, Upper School Ecology Club members have selected Love of the Lake, a local non-profit dedicated to preserving White Rock Lake.
On April 21, Polly will be leading the annual 6th Grade Writer’s Workshop, where a popular author conducts a writing seminar for 6th grade students.
Book Sales and Autographs
As always, the Cultural Arts Committee will be offering books for preorder and autograph. Proceeds from book sales go to the Cultural Arts Committee to defray costs.
In addition, Polly Holyoke has agreed to autograph books in students’ libraries: interested students should deliver their books to the MS or LS office, with a post-it on the title page listing their full name, grade, Advisor or Homeroom teacher, and the name of the autographee.
